We are only able to administer medication to your child if it has been prescribed by a doctor. We ask that all medication is marked clearly with your child’s full name, date and dosage required, and handed to a practitioner at the beginning of your child’s session.
We appreciate that it may be difficult to find alternative care should your child become ill, but we must consider the well-being of other children and practitioners, as illnesses travel very quickly in a Nursery School. We insist that unwell children do not attend Nursery. We will inform you immediately if your child becomes ill whilst at Nursery and, if necessary, request that they are collected before the end of their session. This also applies if your child has head-lice as we would ask for their hair to be shampooed and the lice eradicated before they return.
Please inform the Nursery of any recent illness your child may have had, and refer to the list of exclusion periods on display on the parents’ notice board. If your child suffers from sickness and/or diarrhoea we ask that they do not return to Nursery for a 48 hour clear period, to avoid the spread of infection.
Please speak to a practitioner if you have any questions or would like advice about a particular illness or the administration of medication, whether short or long term.
